Biography
Margarite Sullivan is a senior counsel in the Los Angeles office of Zelms Erlich Lenkov.
Sullivan’s practice primarily focuses on personal injury, general commercial liability, professional liability and business litigation. Ms. Sullivan has experience litigating personal injury cases, representing individuals, public entities, and insurance institutions across California.
Ms. Sullivan has successfully resolved a variety of cases involving personal injury, inverse
condemnation, and class action disputes. She has drafted a variety of successful motions for summary judgment and oppositions to motions for summary judgment. Ms. Sullivan established vicarious liability on the part of a trucking company attempting to avoid litigation by claiming that its employees were independent contractors, thereby placing her client in a favorable position for settlement. Ms. Sullivan has also decertified a class action involving plaintiffs claiming exposure to volatile organic compounds.
Ms. Sullivan earned her J.D. from the top-tier Indiana University Maurer School of Law where she successfully competed in the Sherman Minton Moot Court Competition. During law school, Ms. Sullivan worked as a legal intern in the Civil Litigation unit of the San Diego Office of the City Attorney. Her experience at the City Attorney set the stage for her success in representing defendants. Ms. Sullivan is licensed to practice law in California.
In her free time, Ms. Sullivan enjoys conquering the many hiking trails in San Diego. She is an avid gardener and has an extensive collection of succulents. Ms. Sullivan also greatly enjoys relaxing with her two cats.
