Biography

Sadaf Shah is an Associate in the Los Angeles office of Zelms Erlich Lenkov, where she is a member of the Employment Practices, Civil Litigation & Appeals, Insurance Coverage, and General Liability groups. Her practice focuses on all aspects of employment law, including defending employers against wrongful termination, discrimination, retaliation, harassment, wage and hour violations, and class action and PAGA litigation. She also assists business owners in achieving and maintaining compliance with California’s employment laws.

Ms. Shah earned her Juris Doctor from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, where she received multiple accolades, including the CALI Award in Civil Procedure and Legal Writing & Research, as well as placement on the Dean’s List. During law school, she was actively involved in the Women of Color Collective and was also a member of the Middle East South Asian Association.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Shah gained extensive legal experience across multiple roles. She worked at a boutique law firm, focusing on employment litigation defense, including wage and hour class actions, PAGA representative litigation, and discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination claims. She also engaged in legislative advocacy and legal reform during her law school externship, drafting appellate brief summaries and researching employment law issues. Additionally, Ms. Shah externed with the California Attorney General’s Office where she conducted legal research and drafted motions related to Title VII and California Fair Employment and Housing Act litigation.

Ms. Shah is admitted to the California State Bar. She is fluent in Urdu and enjoys baking, cooking, biking, playing tennis, and traveling in her free time.
