Sydnie Barney

Sydnie is an associate admitted to practice in California. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of California, Los Angeles, and her Juris Doctor from Saint Louis University School of Law. While in law school, Sydnie specialized in Legal Research and Writing and served as a teaching assistant.

Sydnie advises and represents employers on a wide range of labor and employment matters, with an emphasis on employment litigation and compliance under California law. She assists employers in defending claims involving harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and wrongful termination, and supports all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, depositions and trial preparation.

• Represents employers in employment litigation matters involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination claims under California and federal law
• Assists in the defense of wage and hour matters, including class actions and PAGA representative actions alleging overtime, meal and rest break, and employee classification violations
• Supports employment counseling on compliance, risk management, and workforce decisions, including discipline and terminations
• Represents employers before administrative agencies
• Assists with preventive counseling and training for management and human resources on employment law best practices

Outside of her legal practice, Sydnie enjoys spending time with her family, crafting with her daughter, cooking, and shopping.
